About the Project
Hellenic Open University (HOU) implements the project "Actions’ Support for the Endorsement of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Maturation to the Utilization of Research Activity and the New Products and Services that are being developed in H.O.U. (MIS code 5161116). The objective of the project is the promotion of Endorsement of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Maturation to the Utilization of Research Activity and the New Products and Services that are being developed in the wider ecosystem of the H.O.U.
This objective is to be achieved through the following two main actions:
A. Development of appropriate, conducive environment structures for the growth of innovation and technology transfer, through the cultivation of Entrepreneurship knowledge, skills, culture and perspective to students, researchers and the entire Academic Community.
B. Reinforcement of integrated structures of emerging and/or existing collaborative formations, resulting in the utilization of innovative products and services of high added value with international recognition and a high degree of competitiveness.
Action A includes activities that aim at the development of entrepreneurship skills and the ability of students (all levels) and academic community (in general) to take action, education and learning (both in formal and informal ways) activities, business acceleration actions of new proposals and ideas of students, researchers, faculty members and administrative staff of the institution, training actions and evaluation cycles of the beneficiaries (in the context of competitions, educational activities) of the proposed implementation scheme. Action B strives for the introduction of innovations and new services developed by H.O.U. research groups which, by exploiting special features, will strengthen or even create new competitive advantages for member companies, internally and abroad and will integrate knowledge, producing competitive products of the highest added value at pan-European level.
Deliverables of the project include courses modules and seminars planning, implementation of support circles and regular evaluation process of groups of students/researchers, organization of scientific individual actions with emphasis on Entrepreneurship and Innovation, development and operation of hubs-points of first contact in the H.O.U. that will support innovation and entrepreneurship actions, the implementation of publicity-networking actions and the establishment of Observatory for Innovative Entrepreneurship.
The project is expected to have multiple benefits for the wider ecosystem of the HOU regarding the support and maturation of Entrepreneurship and Innovation actions and to be a landmark act for the exploitation of the added value of the Research Activity and the New Products and Services developed in the EAP, contributing, finally, to the strengthening of the Greek Economy.
